What is holistic life coaching?

It is the practice of helping clients reach their goals in life, by focusing on the person's approach to mental health, through personal development. This means helping clients to consider not just their physical wellbeing but also their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

A holistic lifestyle isn't "one size fits all". It just means that you observe yourself , all of yourself, and create a lifestyle that nourishes you as a whole.

Why is it important to have a life coach?

It helps one get the most out of all areas of life.

Life coaching is about looking at where you are now and where you want to be, in each area of your life. An added benefit is setting goals with this holistic approach that helps you to achieve balance, because you are recognizing areas that might be neglected or that might be getting a disproportionate amount of your attention.

Increased self awareness and contentment.

Life coaching improves confidence and self-esteem, increases life satisfaction and happiness levels, lowers stress levels and helps one have a more peaceful mind. This, in turn, increases energy, productivity, brings passion and focus to all of your future endeavors and relationships.

Overcoming mental challenges.

Whether it be feelings of depression, anxiety, anger or grief, we use world class methods and approaches to overcoming these challenges and creating a sense of control over situations.

Life Coaching Philosophy: 5 Theories that Drive the Practice

Transformational Learning

Transformative learning theory argues that humans hold a specific worldview informed by their experiences. This worldview acts like a frame of reference, which affects how we interpret events, assign meaning to the things that happen to us, and interact with our environment

Experiential Learning Theory

Experiential learning theory is a model of adult learning that essentially argues the benefits of learning by doing. The theory states that individuals learn through a cyclical process of concrete learning, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence refers to our ability to perceive and express emotion, assimilate emotion in thought, understand and reason with emotion, and regulate emotion in the self and others.

Cognitive-behavioral theory is grounded in the combination of behavior theory and cognitive theory. The principles of the theory are widely used in therapeutic settings to help clients understand their thoughts and change their reactions and behaviors

Life Coaching as an Art and a Science

We view the field of life coaching as more of an art than a science. It does however, incorporate a specific flow of theoretical and emotional proceedings to achieve its purpose.

Areas Of Specialty

Anxiety Management

Our approach is holistic, with a focus on the connection between mental, emotional, and physical wellness to overcome and manage anxiety.

When it comes to depression or feelings of depression, we incorporate Psychodynamic and interpersonal methods to help you think about the problems you're experiencing in your life, so you can find new ways of dealing with them.

Our approach to relationships and repairing relationships is through "Reflective Listening". This is important as it helps speakers know they are understood, listeners understand their message and making sure both parties are on the same page. It can reinforce positive relationships by fully understanding what your loved ones are trying to communicate. I also incorporate Emotion-focused Therapy techniques. This is an approach based on the premise that emotions are key to identity.  Emotions are also a guide for individual choice and decision making.

Acceptance and commitment therapy tools help you learn to accept negative emotions and situations and then develop healthy patterns. It hones in on your ability to enhance psychological flexibility, accepting your feelings instead of trying to run away from them, feeling guilty about them, or avoiding them altogether. Psychological flexibility is the ability to be very present and in the moment in your life.

I have a degree in psychology, graduating cum laude from the University Of Pretoria.

I enjoy spending time in nature, I love running and staying active and I have a cat who I treat and speak to like a human. He has years of wisdom and  knowledge due to sitting in during sessions.

I became a life coach to help people see and access their amazing potential. I love watching people overcome fear, find direction and embrace incredible new possibilities.

It takes so much courage to step into a place of self-reflection and expansion, but I make sure to to create an environment where you will have my guidance, support and encouragement.

I strive to bring warmth and humor into our sessions while we create a relationship which is built on trust and integrity, while you gain a sense of control and flow in your life.

I strive towards incorporating the Japanese philosophy called "Ikigai", meaning "purpose in life". I believe that once we heal wounds and trauma, we are then able to attract our true Ikigai.

" I went from a mindset of lack, to a mindset of abundance and I have clear goals for my future and would not have been able to do this on my own, Claudia's support through this journey has been everything and more.
